SINGING BIRD BOX BATHING BY THE LAKE Attributed to Griesbaum, Germany. Made circa 1950. Fine, gilt metal and painted on enamel singing bird box.

C. Two-body, rectangular bombé, engraved with repeated patterns, the top painted on enamel with fl owers, outer engraved scroll border inlaid with black enamel, cover decorated with a painted on enamel rural scene of two ladies beside a lake. M. Rectangular brass, going barrel and rectangular bellows, the revolving bird with moving wings, tail and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass grill pierced and engraved with foliage. Dim. 73 x 107 x 47 mm.
