WATCH WITH CONCEALED EROTIC SCENE Girardier l'Aîné, Paris. Made circa 1810. Fine and very unusual silver pocket watch with a concealed painted on enamel erotic scene.

C. Three-body, Empire, reeded bezel, faceted band. D. Small eccentric enamel with Arabic numerals, gilt brass dial plate chased with foliate decoration, Cupids on oval small silver panels on each side of the dial and above a circular silver panel chased with a scene of a woman and the sun, opening via a pin in the dial plate to disclose a painted on enamel scene depicting a maiden being accosted by a man. Gilt open fancy hands. M. 46 mm., hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, fl at balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Diam. 55 mm.
