SWISS MUSICAL QUARTER REPEATING WATCH YELLOW GOLD Swiss, Geneva, No. 16136. Made circa 1820. Very fine and rare 18K rose gold quarter-repeating musical pocket watch with music playing on the hour and on demand.

C. Four-body, Empire, engine-turned with polished bezel and border, reeded band, massive textured pattern case back, lever at 1 o'clock to activate or stop the music. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. D. Gold with black Arabic numerals on circular white enamel reserves intersected by engraved stylized leaves, white enamel outer minute track and visible musical movement in the front. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 50 mm., gilt brass, fi xed going barrel, cylinder escapement, three-arm plain brass balance with blued steel fl at balance spring, sur plateau musical movement with fi xed barrel, 21 vibrating teeth, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Case punched with the mark of DLG * 12720, case numbered. Diam. 55 mm. Thickness 21 mm.
