GIROD DIAMONDS AND ENAMEL Girod, Geneva, No. 1656. Made circa 1880. Very fine, elegant and rare, 18K gold, diamond and enamel hunting cased enamel watch with special escapement.
C. Five-body, polished, the front with blue enamel around a spiral diamond set design, the back with blue enamel surrounded around a large diamond set design, both sides with intricate the front and back covers opened by dual button mechanism. D. White enamel with black Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued-steel Breguet hands. M. Frosted gilt movement, special clover compensation lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, fl at balance spring, index regulator. Case signed Patek Philippe and Shreve, Boston, case stamped. Diam. 40 mm.
