LOUIS XV QUARTER REPEATING WATCH Ls. Puel à Nismes. Made circa 1770. Very fine, quarter-repeating, varicolored gold pocket watch with à tact feature.
C. Two-body, Louis XV, the back decorated with a varicolored gold scene of putto before a classical altar, swag border, outer pierced border with interlaced laurel and ribbon, bezel decorated to match. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic fi ve-minute numerals. Rose-cut diamond-set elaborate hands. M. 35 mm., matte gilt full plate, tapered cylindrical pillars, fuse and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, fl at balance spring, pierced and chased continental balance cock, silver regulation dial, repeating on a bell in the back of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 44 mm
