HERMÈS PENDULETTE & BAROMETER ÉTRIER Hermès, Paris, "Etrier", the movement by Pontifa-Audoine, Swiss. Made circa 1935. Fine and rare, 8-day going, gilt brass and leather stirrup-form desk clock with alarm and a matching aneroid barometer "Holosterique", probably designed by Paul Dupré-Lafon.
C. Four-body, gilt-brass frame in the form of a stirrup, leather-covered circular case suspended from the frame by a loop, winding, hand-setting and alarm setting from the back. Aneroid barometer in matching case. D. Brushed silvered with painted hour indexes and Arabic quarter-hour numerals. Blued steel baton hands. M. Cal. 19???, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, selfcompensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial and stirrup signed Hermès, movement signed Pontifa- Audoine. Dim. 14 x 13.3 cm.
