LIBRARY GLOBE CLOCK French, No. 943, the globe by G. Thomas, 11 Rue du Sommerard, Paris. Made circa 1880. Fine and rare, gilt-brass, 8-day going, table globe clock with mecanically rotating globe driven by the movement.

C. Gilt-brass fl uted pillar supporting the globe on a tilted axis, curved threaded rod with brass moon, drum base housing the movement, circular base with holes for winding and setting. D. Gilt-brass inclined chapter ring at the Equator engraved with Roman numerals and baton quarter-hour indexes. Curved brass pointer. M. 77 mm., gilt-brass, circular plates, going barrel, underslung cylinder escapement on a gilt brass platform, plain three-arm balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator. Diam. 15 cm. Height 30 cm.
