QUARTER-REPEATING WATCH ? TO LIEUTENANT ANTON MOLLINARY Henggeller, Roy & Cie., Chaux-de-Fonds, case No. 3535. Made circa 1840. Fine, quarter-repeating, 18K gold pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement, presented by the German Army to the Austrian Lieutentant Anton Mollinary in 1842.
C. Four-body, cast and chased flower bezel, pendant and bow, coin-edge band, slide at 2 for locking the repeating, the back cover engraved with a scene of a hunter sounding the hunting horn in a landscape with a stag and hounds, foliate border and edge to match the bezel, the interior engraved "Die Regierungen des 8 deutschen Armee Korps dem österreichischen pionnier Lieutenant A. Mollinary 1842" . Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details highlighted in enamel. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Gold Breguet hands. M. 40 mm, matte gilt, 14 jewels, ruby cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Cuvette signed. Diam. 45.5 mm.
