GRANDE SONNERIE CLOCKWATCH WITH TRIP QUARTER-REPEATING Swiss. Made circa 1890. Fine and very rare, two-train, Grande Sonnerie striking and trip quarter-repeating, keyless pocket watch. To be sold without reserve
C. Three-body, gilt-brass, "bassine", polished, glazed on both sides, slides on the band for silence/sonnerie. D. White enamel, with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic fi ve-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. M. 20''', rhodium plated, double train with differential winding, 35 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, index regulator, striking the hours and quarters on gongs with two hammers, repeating activated by a trip-slide on the band. Diam. 53.5 mm.
