Notes

This beautiful egg pendant watch is in very good condition due to the survival of the original box. The decoration of opalescent enamel was most desirable in the early years of the 20th century and is a technique perfected by Faberge in the late 19th century, giving a rich yet subtle lustrous effect. The new fashion established by Cartier in the opening years of the 20th century for diamonds set in platinum rather than silver and gold can also be seen in the present watch
