Longines Display Chronometer Longines, `Chronometer`,no.6425109. Made in the 1940s. Fine and rare, indirect center-seconds, table display lever chronometer with 36-hour power-reserve.
C. Brass gimbals in marine style, screw-down bezel with reeded edge, weighted bowl, locking slide, brass supports on a mirror-polished steel base and further heavy brass circular base with 6 screw-heads, applied brass plaque at the front engraved ?Longines Chronometer?. Glazed screw-down cover over the movement. D. Matte silver with bold black Arabic numerals, outer minute track, inner seconds track with fifths of a second divisions, Arabic five-second numerals, up-and-down power-reserve indication sector. Gilt lozenge hands, blued steel seconds hand. M. Cal. 21.29, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperature and 5 positions, blued steel Breguet balance spring with Phillips terminal curve, cam micrometer regulator, indirect center-seconds wheel on the backplate. Dial, case and movement signed. diaM. 12.3 x 17 cm.
