C. Three-body, oval, the top, singing bird cover and body overlaid with translucent blue guilloché enamel, molded top and base with rope-twist and repeat leaf borders, engine-turned base with hinged compartment at one end for storing the key, the bird cover with applied silver-gilt cherubs. M. Singing bird movement: going barrel, rectangular belows, Griesbaum-type whistle, the bird rotating and moving wings, tail and beak, controlled by a rack and two cams mounted beneath the barrel, gilt brass grille engraved with foliage, activated by a slide in the side of the case. Case signed. DIAM. 135 x 71.5 x 48 mm.
