SPLIT SECONDS CHRONOGRAPH ? EQUESTRIAN TROPHY Swiss, movement No. 119661, case No. 251635, retailed by Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co., Philadelphia. Made circa 1890. Fine, 18K yellow gold and enamel, keyless pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph.

Four-body, bassine, polished, the back cover decorated in black champleve enamel with an equestrian trophy, co-axial crown for start/stop and return-to-zero functions of the chronograph, button in the band at 11 for the split-seconds. Hinged gold cuvette with photographic transfer portrait of a lady. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minutes and concentric fifths of a second divisions with red Arabic five-second numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold Louis XVI hands. M. 17???, ?Adjusted?, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator. Dial and movement signed by the retailer, cuvette and movement stamped ?Swiss?. DIAM. 47 mm.
