LOEHR SELF-WINDING SILVER August Von Loehr, Loehr Patent, Swiss, No. 512. Made circa 1880. Fine and rare, sterling silver, self-winding, square pocket watch with power reserve indication. The patent for the Loehr automatic movement was granted to August Von Loehr in January, 1878

C. Four-body, entirely engraved with masks, scrolls and foliage, hinged case back, silver hinged cuvette. D. White enamel with painted radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute markers, subsidiary seconds at 10, power reserve scale at 2. Gold Louis XV hands. M. Square, 38 x 38 mm. (17 x 17???), nickel-plated, 15 jewels, lateral counterpoised lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, jeweled T-shaped oscillating weight, index regulator. Signed on the dial Loehr Patent, numbered on the cuvette. DIM. 48 x 48 mm.
