Notes

The Compax Line of ChronographsThe "Compax" bearing 12-hour and 45-minute registers was launched on November 19, 1935. It was first presented in 1936 and progressively replaced the "Compur" range in the beginning of the 1940's. The 1930's witnessed the birth of the Universal dual push piece chronograph and the chronograph wristwatch with a 12-hour register, which brought about a veritable revolution in the field of chronographic functions. This innovation was followed by the "Compur" range and, in 1936, the "Compax". Within te space of only a few years, Universal developed a stunning succession of prestigious models: The "Uni-Compax", the "Dato-Compax", the "Medico-Compax" and in 1944, the year marking the Golden Anniversary of Universal's foundation, the "Tri-Compax", officially presented at the 1944 Basel Fair.
