Notes

Louis Recordon (1756-1826)A watchmaker originally from Sainte-Croix who settled first in Geneva and then in London, he was Breguet's friend and agent in England, responsible for selling about 75 Breguet watches to the British, including some to the British Monarchy. The watch clearly shows Recordon's continental origin. In spite of the movement, which is typically English, the case, the dial, the pull-twist piston through the pendant and the compensation curb are clearly in the Breguet style."Dictionnaire des Horlogers Genevois" by Osvaldo Patrizzi, Antiquorum Editions, Geneva, 1998.
