West Meets East Unsigned, Neuchâtel, Swiss, made on special order, circa 1870. Very fine and rare 18K gold and enamel diamond-set, hunting-cased, keyless minute-repeating watch.

C. Four-body, "bassine et filets", both covers elaborately set with diamonds; the front with a diamond-set American eagle among diamond-set stars, holding lighning bolts in its claws, with a red white and blue striped cartouche on its breast, diamond-set edge forming a scrolling pattern, the back centered with a diamond-set star and crescent surrounded with garlands of diamonds, diamond-set crown, gold hinged cuvette. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic markers, subsidiary sunk seconds. Gold "spade" hands. M. 43 mm. (19???), nickel, 31 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs through activating slide in the band. Punched with Neuchatel gold mark and casemakers mark "JAD". Diam. 52 mm.
