Farewell to the BelovedUnsigned, Geneva, No.1829, made for the Chinese market circa 1830, case attributed to Frères Oltramare, No. 5219.Very fine and rare 18K gold and painted on enamel pearl-set center seconds musical hour-striking and repeating watch, with quarter-repeating on gongs.

Four-body, "Empire", the back with a very finely painted on enamel scene of two ladies in despair as a young man goes off to serve his country, split pearl-set bezels, engine-turned band, gold hinged cuvette, bolt at 6 o'clock to activate the music, lever at 4 o'clock protruding from under the cuvette for music/silent. D. Gold, champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute track, acanthus engraved decoration between the numerals, engine-turned center and outermost. Blued steel "serpentine" hands. M.44 mm. (19 1/2'''), gilt brass, going barrels, cylinder escapement, three-arm plain brass balance with flat balance spring, sur plateau musical movement with 21 vibrating teeth, repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant.Case punched with casemaker's mark.Diam. 53 mm.
