Outer: two-body, gilt brass covered with green shagreen, held by gilt metal studs; inner: two-body, "bassine", band fluted, pierced and engraved in an elegant repeated floral pattern, polished back with winding apertures, extended hinge, silver thumbpiece, small à toc pin at 4 o'clock. D. Silver, champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute ring with large five-minute Arabic markers on polished cartouches, matted background, aperture for alarm sector above 6 o'clock with setting aperture below. Blud steel "beetle and poker" hands. M. 52 mm., hinged, gilt full plate with turned baluster pillars, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement with brass escape wheel, plain three-arm steel balance with flat balance spring, double-footed cock, balance jeweled and with diamond endstone, alarm with fixed barrel ringing a bell with two hammers, repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant, gilt brass dust cap.Signed on the movement and dust cap.Diam. 88 mm. Notes

Very good example of the work of much celebrated British watchmaker of Swiss origin. Certain features found in this watch, such as double hammer for the alarm are rare even in Vulliamy work.
