Feeding the SwanUnsigned, probably Geneva, circa 1800.Very fine and rare 18K gold and painted on enamel watch with date, accompanied by matching chatelaine in original leather fitted box.
C. Two-body, back enameled with two children and a dog in a wood feeding a swan swimming in a nearby stream, translucent dark blue enamel over engine-turned background, pearl-set bezels. Chatelaine: three gold and painted on enamel oval links depicting children, pearl borders, the lower one with the same scene as the case joined by gold filigree chains, terminating with seal, key and two tassels set with pearls. D. White enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute track, winding aperture at 2 o'clock,inner date track. Gold Breguet hands. M. 47 mm (21'''), hinged, frosted gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, hinged gilt dust cap.Punched "CF" on the pendant.Diam. 57 mm., length with chatelaine 360 mm.
