A: German, probably Augsburg, circa 1660, depicting the Virgin and Child, with the Flight to Egypt inside.Diam. 52 mm.B: German, probably Augsburg, circa 1660, depicting the Virgin, the Child and St. John the Baptist, the back with a fisherman in a woodland landscape.Diam. 53 mm.C: Swiss, probably made for the Chinese market circa 1830, depicting a couple in classical dress, a marble statue with a torch to the left.Diam. 47 mm.

The enameled covers of old watches have been collected for centuries. Most have been incorporated into boxes or lockets; it is very rare to find them alone.
