C. A: C. Table tambour clock case, German, circa 1550, two-piece, gilt brass, drum-shaped, friction-fit back cover, fixed top forming the dial. The back cover engraved with scrolling foliage, the band engraved with birds, the top and bottom covers with stepped edges. D. Twelve tactile knob markers for night reading, concentric outer ring with Roman chapters from I to XII, innermost chapter ring with Arabic numerals from 12 to 24 in the German style.The center engraved with wind rose and sun-ray motif. Single iron "heart" hand.Diam. 60 mm., height 38 mm.B:C. Double-body, pendant watch case, probably French, circa 1590, gilt brass, used to house alarm, possibly with a clock watch movement, tambour-like but with cushioned band and slightly domed covers, the pierced band and the back decorated with arabesques typical for the period. D. Gilt metal, hinged to the case, outer 12-hour Roman chapter, inner revolving alarm ring with Arabic numerals and steel pointer, rosette engraved in the center, outer engraving with floral, foliate and animal designwith a snail, sitting stag, mask at the top.Diam. 67 mm.C:Top part of Monstrance clock, circa 1580, gilt brass, two-body, back and bezel pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage, band pierced with rail pattern and engraved with geometrical pattern, lower part with large mounting screw.Dim. 78 x 63 mm.
