Unsigned, Geneva, retailed by Charles Hammer, Stockholm, circa 1880.Very fine 18K gold and enamel diamond-set keyless pendant form watch in the shape of a beetle with a miniature compartment and with diamond-set gold pendant necklace in original leather fitted box.

Four-body, spring-loaded wings in translucent red enamel with black red dots over fine flinqué which open to reveal the dial, neck, head and eyes set with diamonds, gold, hinged cuvette, the bottom realistically cast, chiseled and engraved, the band with black enamel stripes alternating with matte gold ones. Gold "snake" necklace with a crested center set with rose-cut diamonds. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 18.8 x 24.3 mm. (8 x1'''), rectangular with rounded corners, gilt brass, 10 jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm gilded balance, flat balance spring.Dim. Length 48 mm.Box signed by the retailer.
