Germany, circa 1740.Unusual, ebonized pear wood musical bracket clock with date, seconds, and a quarter-repeating carillon on five bells.

C. rectangular with molded base and top, glazed side panels, hinged back and front doors. D. pewter chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, inner subsidiary seconds and date aperture. Silvered dial plate chased with cherubs on the lower corners and further foliage decoration, subsidiary dial on the upper part for days of the week. "Louis XIV" blued steel hands. M. brass rectangular with cylindrical pillars, fusée with chain, verge escapement, short pendulum with spring susension. Pull wound quarter repeating train with fly regulator, carillon on five bells with five hammers.Dim. 50 x 33 x 26 cm.
