Unsigned, No. 56206, Swiss. Produced for the South American market circa 1880.Fine, hunting-cased, keyless, highly decorated, 18K gold pocket watch.
C. four-body, "demi-bassine", triple-hinged, front cover engraved with two theatrical scenes featuring ancient soldiers, the edges with floral scrolling on matted ground, back cover similar in design but with a crest for initials, band engraved with repeated pattern, gold hinged cuvette over glazed gold bezel to view the movement. D. silver with Roman numerals, outer minute dot ring, outermost and center applied with gold floral and foliate design with acanthus leaves, auxiliary sunk seconds dia. "Louis XV" gold hands with diamond paste. M. 49mm (22'''), nickel, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 20 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring.Diam. 58 mm.
