American Waltham Watch Co., No. 9685100, Model 1883, Grade No.18, circa 1899.Fine and rare, almost mint-condition, 25-year rose gold-filled, engraved hunting-cased, keyless watch, with a fancy dial.
C. Four-body, "bassine", triple-hinged by Keystone, No. 7543338, engine turned and engraved, hinged cuvette. D. Off-white and blue enamel, gold paillon fancy Arabic radial numerals on blue reserve with black shadow for relief effect, gold paillon cartouches, outer gold paillon minute ring, center with paillon flower and crescent pattern, recessed sub-seconds. Gold "Louis XV" hands. M. 18 size, nickel full plate with elaborate damascening, 7 jewels, lateral coun-terpoised lever escapement, cut-bietallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring, safety pinion, lever-set with Church disengaged intermediate wheel patented (No. 295484) system. Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 55 mm.
