Notes

This is an interesting box, most likely taken from Rochat's stock and finished by Bruguier. A singing bird box with a strikingly similar movement, marked with three tulips and numbered 391 having the same type mounting brackets can be found in the collection of Musee international d'Horlogerie, La Chaux-de-Fonds.Another one with the same construction and the same enamel landscape on the bird cover by Berguer & Fils was used by Patek Philippe to house their movement No. 28393. See Antiquorum Hong Kong, June 9, 2001, lot 462.
