Unsigned, French, circa 1870.Fine eight day going hour and half hour striking clock painting with Musique de Genève à 5 airs, playing on demand.

C.Gilt wood framed, oil on canvas, featuring a Swiss Alpine village, mountains in the background, castle with the clock on the tower. D. White with Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel "scotties" hands. M. Brass, square with going barrels for both the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, pendulum with spring suspension. Striking on a gong with count wheel on the back plate, striking on a gong. Two musical movements of 2 and 3 tunes with 72 mm. brass pinned cylinder.Signed on the back of the canvas.Dim. 81 x 70 cm., including the frame.
