C.Round aluminum, mounted between two larger square aluminum blocks. D. Silvered, matte, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary sunk seconds. Blued steel "Feuilles" hands. M. Rectangular, 35 x 22 mm., rhodium-plated, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, anibal-brass Guillaume balance with special alloy Breguet balance spring, anti-shock device.Signed on dial and movement.Dim. Block 70 x 70 mm., movement housing 53 mm. diam.

Notes
The watch is exceptionally well-finished, with Guillaume balance, endstones on the entire escapement and very fast train (probably 36,000 b/h). The aluminum case is typical oh those companies submitted wristwatches for the observatory contests. After WW II Longines began producing high quality wristwatches. In 1947 they won first place in Geneva Observatory Contest. The present piece continues this tradition. After the competition the company apparently kept it in its original aluminum contestase.
