C.Four-body, "bassine", by TR (Thomas Russell, Liverpool) with stepped bezels, polished, gold hinged cuvette, bolt at 2 o'clock for stopping the watch for precision setting. D. White enamel, sunk center, Arabic numerals, outer minute track, outermost seconds divided into fifths, five-minute/seconds Arabic markers, up-and-down sector at 6 o'clock. Gold "spade" hands. M. 50 mm. (20 Lancashire size), frosted gilt 3/4-plate, 19 jewels, lateral counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensaion balance with Palladium Breguet balance spring, gold lever, Morgan's direct up-and-down mechanism.Signed on the movement. Diam. 55 mm.

Notes

An unusual watch combining a non-magnetic feature, Palladium balance spring and the rare Morgan up-and-down indicator, which is the simplest known power reserve mechanism for going barrel. It was patented in England by S. J. Morgan on October 7, 1899.
