Unsigned, German, circa 1620.Very fine and important small gilt brass octagonal pre balance spring single-hand pendant watch with stackfreed.

C.Two-body, elongated octagonal, deep front, grooved band, hinged plain back cover, hinged dial cover pierced with 12 openings for the hours and rosette in the center, small hexagonal pendant, loose ring. D. Circular silver, part of the case, champlevé Roman numerals with half-hour divisions, inner quarter hour ring, simple rosette in the center. Gilt "arrow" hand.M. Elongated, 39 x 31 mm. (back plate), gilt brass full plate, square pillars, fixed barrel, C-shaped stackfreed, four-wheel steel train, verge escapement, circular steel foliot, hog bristle mounted on adjustable pivoted lever, small brass S-shaped cock secured by a screw.Dim. 60 (with pendant) x 35 mm.
