Notes

The company was founded in 1858 by Maurice Ditisheim. At one point the company merged with Ditisheim & Freres, which had been founded by Gaspard Ditisheim. The new company traded under a few different names, "Vulcain" being the most important among them. In 1945 it became famous for developing a wrist alarm watch, the famous "Cricket".
