Playing PuttiJ. W. Benson, to H.M. the Late Queen, Lutgate Hill, London, No. 2712, hallmarked 1914-15.Very fine and rare 18K gold and painted on enamel half-hunting keyless pocket watch.
C. Four-body, "bassine et filets", back finely painted on enamel with three playful putti, one holding a dove, foliate background. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary sunk seconds. Blued steel "double spade" hands.M. 40 mm., 3/4-plate, lateral counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with flat balance spring.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 48 mm.
