Longines, "Lindbergh", No. 012/100, replica of the famous post-WW I navigator's watch, invented by Col. Chas. A. Lindbergh and Longines in 1927, US Pat. 1923305. Produced in a small edition of 100 examples in 1987, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Lindbergh's first flight over the Atlantic Ocean in 1927. Fine hour-angle, center-seconds, 18K yellow gold aviator's wristwatch with an leather strap expandable by means of a second buckle.
C. four-body, solid, polished and brushed, hinged case back with dedication inside, revolving ridged bezel with enameled 15 degrees graduations, graduated band, the ball-shaped crown also activates the revolving central dial, the pusher on the band allows hand-setting. D. white enamel with enameled Roman numeral for the 12 hour indication, concentric, the 180 degrees in Arabic numerals, at the center, revolving off-white dial bearing painted black Arabic numerals for the 60 minutes and paintedabic numerals for the 15 degrees. "Breguet" blued steel hands. M. L 876.2, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 48 mm.
