Notes

The 1930's witnessed the birth of the Universal dual pushpiece chronograph and the chronograph wristwatch with a 12 hour register, which brought about a veritable revolution in the field of chronographic functions. This innovation was followed by the "Compur" range and, in 1936, the "Compax". In only a few years, Universal developed a stunning succession of prestigious models: The "Uni-Compax", the "Dato-Compax", the "Medico-Compax" and in 1944, the year marking the Golden Anniversary of Universal's foundation, the "Tri-Compax", officially presented at the Basel Fair in 1944.
