Sylvain Mairet, No. 63, made for J.F. Cooper, London, circa 1835. Very fine and elegant extra-slim 18K gold watch with ruby cylinder escapement, Réaumur thermometer and regulator dial.
C. Three-body, coin-edge, engine-turned back, gold hinged cuvette with winding and setting apertures, elegant bow smoothly extending from the pendant. D. Silver, by "GC", engine-turned in a sunburst pattern, eccentric Roman chapter at 2 o'clock, Arabic minute chapter symmetrically to the left, thermometer sector with Fahrenheit scale at the bottom. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 42 mm. (19'''), frosted gilt, ruby cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance with flat balance spring, compensationurb, steel and brass bimetallic thermometer curb acing on spring-loaded rack-and-pinion transmition. Punched with Mairet's master mark on the pillar plate.Diam. 47 mm.
