L'Epine à Paris, circa 1785. Fine and interesting 18K gold and diamond-set double-glazed watch with visible movement.
C. Two-body, Louis XVI, glazed on both sides, the bezels set with diamonds, band engraved. D. White enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute ring with five-minute Arabic markers, winding aperture at 2 o'clock. Gold "Louis XV" hands. M. 24 mm., hinged, gilt, skeletonized top plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm steel balance with blued steel spring, small triangular cock, applied silver ornament pierced and engraved with foliage, surmounted by a crown and sewith rose-cut diamonds.Signed on the dial.Diam. 31 mm.
