L(oui)s. M.(oricand), Geneva, circa 1820. Fine and unusual 18K gold skeletonized watch with movement in the shape of a vase.
C. Three-body, "Empire", reeded band, glazed on both sides. D. Small white enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Vase-shaped, gilt brass, full plate fully decorated on both sides with engraved foliate and repeated pattern, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, small two-footed steel cock. Signed "Ls. M." on the dial, pendant punched with the Montbeliard Assay Office mark (bull) used beween 1819 and 1838.Diam. 47 mm.
