Unsigned, Geneva, No. 44, circa 1830. Very fine 18K gold quarter-repeating watch with music playing on the hour or at will.
C. Four-body, "Empire", engine-turned, gilt hinged cuvette, bolt at 6 o'clock to activate the music, lever at 9 o'clock protruding from under the cuvette for music/silent. D. Gold, champlevé radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, acorn and oak-leaf decoration between the numerals, engine-turned center and outermost. Blued steel "serpentine" hands. M. 52 mm. (23'''), gilt brass, fixed barrels, cylinder escapement, three-arm gold balance with flat balance spring, sur plateau musical movement,27 tuned vibrating blades acting on both sides of the pinned disc, repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant.Case punched with illegible casemaker's mark.Diam. 58 mm.
