Montre Geographique Callier, Horloger de l'Observatoire, Fournisseur de la Marine de l'Etat, Paris, dated 1887. Very fine and rare 18K gold, keyless, double-face 24-hour World Time watch.
C. Four-body, massive, "bassine", polished. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, days in red, nights in black, outer dot minute divisions with five-minute Arabic markers. Blued steel Breguet hands. Center with revolving enamel disc painted with the northern hemisphere. Gilt index hand to be set for designated longitude. Back dial for minutes only: white enamel with minute track with five-minute red Arabic markers, subsidiary sunk seconds, sub-dial for regulating at 1 o'clock. Gold "lozene" hand. Both minute and seconds hands going counterclockwise. M. 48 mm. (21'''), frosted gilt, 19 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, rack and pinion regulator.Signed on the dial.Diam. 59 mm.
