International Watch Co., Schaffhausen, No. 201, sold to Jacky Ickx, circa 1990. From a limited series of 250 pieces. Exceptionally fine and rare, solid 18K gold, hunting-cased, astronomical watch with full calendar, phases of the moon and gold movement.

C. Five-body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished, gold glazed cuvette, front engraved "Jacky Ickx". D. White, Roman numerals on the outermost, inner minute divisions with five-minute Arabic markers, four subsidiary sunk dials for days of the week, date, months concentric with subsidiary seconds, and phases of the moon aperture. Black "Louis XV" hands. M. 37 mm., Cal. 9821, gilt movement entirely chased with stylized foliage, 19 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance wih self-compensating Breguet balance spring, micrometric regulator.Signed on dial, case and movement.Diam. 60 mm.

Jacky Ickx born January 1, 1945 Born in Brussels, Jacky Ickx began his racing career in 1964. In 1967 he became European Formule 2 Champion, and made his Formule 1 debut. During the course of his career, he won eight Grands Prix for F1: France in 1968, Germany and Canada in 1969, Austria, Canada and Mexico in 1970, Holland in 1971 and finally Germany in 1972, making him the most renowned Belgian racing car pilot. After having twice won the title of vice-champion, in 1969 and again in 1970, he retired from Formule 1 in 1979. As concerns endurance, his record is even more impressive. Twice world champion, in 1982 and 1983, he was a six-time winner of the 24 heures du Mans 1969, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1981 and 1982.
