Double-body, by "IM", "Directoire" with split pearl-set bezel, the pendant with azure champlevé enameled decoration, the back enamel panel with large split pearl-set border of aquamarine flinqué enamel over engine-turned decoration in a sunburst pattern. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals. Gold "half-moon" skeleton hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain and maintaining power, English lateral lever escapement with pointed tooth escape wheel,lain gold three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass English cock engraved with a mask and foliage, diamond endstone.Signed on the back plate.Diam. 51 mm.

The movement and dial of this watch appear to have been upgraded, by the watchmaker, around 1820-25. Due to the high quality of the case, it is understandable that the owner wished to preserve it, especially since it had been protected by the glazed outer case.
