The Royal Guard D.S. & S., English, Swiss movement, hallmarked 1952-53. Unusual 18K two-tone gold ruby- and diamond-set brooch fitted with a watch, made especially for the coronation of Queen Elisabeth II of England.

Three-body, the top in the shape a royal guard standing against a white gold sentry box, his helmet set with rubies, his sash and glove with diamonds, watch below, spring-loaded and hinged, front cover engraved "ER II" surmounted by the royal crown. D. Silvered, Arabic numerals. Blued steel "Alpha" hands. M. 15.5 x 12 mm. (7 x 5 1/2'''), rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance with self-compensating flat balance spring.Punched with maker's mark inside back cover.Dim. 44 mm.
