Poitevin & Co., Geneva, No. 11120, circa 1880.Very fine and unusual, 18K gold, hunting cased, keyless independent, split center-seconds watch with 1/4 second foudroyante.
C. four-body, massive, "bassine et filets", engine turned. Hinged gold cuvette. D. white enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and independent seconds rings, sunk 1/4 second diablotine. Blued steel "Breguet" hands. M. 20''', nickel plated, double train with differential winding, "fausses côtes" decoration, 24 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Independent split-seconds train with flirt on the escape wheel pinionand push pieces in the band.Signed on the dial and movement.Diam. 56 mm.
