James Murray, Royal Exchange, London, made for the Chinese and Indian market, circa 1860.Fine, large, gilt brass, 8-day going, hours and half-hour striking, fusee carriage clock.
C. rectangular, glazed on all sides, rectangular columns, small finials, square feet, back and front hinged, brass handle. D. silvered brass, champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute track, set on florally etched plate. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. rectangular, 138 x 180 mm, brass, double fusee, lateral lever escapement with the lift on the pallets, monometallic brass balance, flat balance spring, rack striking on 3-coil gong, repeating activated through small push piece on the top of the case.Signed on dial and movement.Dim. 25 x 18 c
