Swiss or German, circa 1830 . Very fine and rare brass wheel cutting engine. Horizontal brass dividing plate set with 12 rows of divisions, reverse with three further divisions, spring-loaded locking arm with a thumb end, pivoted "fast" cutting arm of early type with depth adjustment controlled by a large steel screw, single large foot. Dim. 22 x 19 cm. Good condition. Cleaned and varnished.
