Swiss or French, circa 1840. Fine steel and brass face plate engine. Centering plate with three dog clamps, spring-loaded centering post, brass bed, driven by in-line two wheel transmission with a crank lever, two-directional slide rest controlled by crank and knurled screw, angular cutter adjustment. Later wooden base and wooden wheels. Base dim. 28 x 14 cm, overall 53 cm long. Good condition. A very well preserved tool.
