Swiss or German, circa 1830 Very fine and rare steel and brass wheel cutting engine for clockmaking. Horizontal brass dividing plate set with 6 rows of divisions, blank reverse, locking arm with a thumb end, pivoted "fast" cutting arm of early type with depth adjustment controlled by a large steel screw, single large foot. Dim. 22 x 19 cm. Good condition, cleaned and varnished.
