Christoph Heinrich Kirchner, Posneck, Germany, 1790. Very fine and rare and early steel and brass wheel cutting engine. Horizontal brass dividing plate set with 39 rows of divisions, blank reverse, locking arm with a thumb end, pivoted cutting arm of early type with depth adjustment controlled by a large steel screw, single large foot. Later bow and wooden base. Dim. 30 x 25 cm. Good condition, cleaned.
