The Scallop Shell. Geneva, No. 122, circa 1810. Fine 18K gold and enamel, pearl-set form watch with concealed dial, designed as a scallop shell.
C. Two-body, spring-loaded, each half with a translucent scarlet enamel center with blue enamel border over fine flinqué, the front with white and blue champlevé enamel, graduated pearl-set edge, oval gold suspension ring with white enamel stripes. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute dot divisions, winding aperture between 1 and 2 o'clock. Brass Breguet hands. M. 22 mm. (11'''), hinged, frosted gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock.Dim. 40 x 32 mm.
